The Energy Blog heeft vandaag opvallend nieuws over een wetsvoorstel om de uitstoot van broeikasgassen in de VS te reduceren van de senatoren Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.) en John McCain (R-Ariz.), met als mede-ondertekenaars, Senators Snowe, Obama, Collins, en Lincoln.
Doel van de wet is om de uitstoot van broeikasgassen door de electriciteitssector, industrie, transport en commerciele sector van de economie in 2012 op het niveau van 2012 te stabiliseren. Vervolgens dalen de emissies van de V.S. in het voorstel met 2/3 tot 2050.
